Culinary Arts is the program for you. Our Culinary Arts program offers opportunities to learn about subjects such as hospitality, nutrition, culinary arts, and hospitality management. Culinary Arts students learn about topics including food safety and personal hygiene, sanitation, food preparation techniques, and basic culinary skills. Students in nutrition will learn the characteristics, functions and food sources of the major nutrient groups and how to maximize nutrient retention in food preparation and storage.
Principles of Culinary Arts builds a foundation that prepares students to enter the Advanced Culinary Arts or Advanced Hospitality courses. Major topics include: introduction to the hospitality industry; food safety and personal hygiene; sanitation and safety; regulations, procedures, and emergencies; basic culinary skills; culinary math; and food preparation techniques and applications; principles of purchasing, storage, preparation, and service of food and food products;
Nutrition students will learn the characteristics, functions and food sources of the major nutrient groups and how to maximize nutrient retention in food preparation and storage.
Hospitality Management prepares students for employment in the hospitality industry. It provides the foundations for study in higher education that leads to a full spectrum of hospitality careers.
Hospitality Management Capstone presents the essentials of effective food and beverage control while establishing systems for sale values of food and beverages that are outlined.
