2025

Logansport High School held its 154th Commencement Ceremony on Sunday in the Berry Bowl, as 239 seniors from the Class of 2025 walked across the stage to receive their diplomas.

The ceremony opened with the traditional “Pomp and Circumstance,” performed by the L.H.S. Band under the direction of Ned H. Boyd. Class President Ashanta Curry welcomed guests and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Alexander Geisler performed the National Anthem, accompanied by the band.

Principal Matt Jones addressed the audience, recognizing this year’s Distinguished Graduates and honoring Hall of Distinction inductee Harry "Mac" McNaught, a 1972 graduate. Superintendent Michele Starkey shared inspiring words of encouragement, and Assistant Principal Shanel Fretwell highlighted the academic accomplishments of the graduating class.

Senior class officers Libby Dexter and Kiaranely Tomas offered opening remarks and introduced the L.H.S. Swing Choir’s performance of Bob Dylan’s “The Times They Are A-Changin’.” Senior speaker Ared Ruiz shared reflections in “Our Home,” followed by Alexa Sanchez-Agreda’s powerful address, “A Leap of Faith.”

Claire Bundy, Principal’s Advisor to the Class of 2025, delivered the Senior Closing Statement before Ashanta Curry returned to lead the tassel ritual. As each graduate’s name was read by Assistant Principal Mrs. Shanel Fretwell and Administrative Assistant Mrs. Lucy Ponce, members of the L.C.S.C. Board of School Trustees presented the diplomas.

The ceremony concluded with "Logansport High School Alma Mater," sung by Justin Snay and Isabella Lucero, followed by the L.H.S. School Song. Graduates exited to cheers from proud family and friends.

The event marked the end of a meaningful chapter for the Class of 2025—one filled with memories, accomplishments, and promise for the future. Go Berries!
