Dear Parent or Guardian,

The Indiana General Assembly passed legislation regarding child abuse instruction. Senate Enrolled Act 355 requires that annually, by December 15, the school will provide age-appropriate instruction on child abuse and sexual abuse prevention to students through grade 12.

Indiana currently has no research and evidence-based curriculum developed to meet this requirement for high school students. Therefore, we will meet this requirement by sharing two videos that define and clarify the topics of consent and give specific scenarios for students to understand what consent is and is not.

If you feel that your child should not participate in this program, please contact LHS administration to request an opt-out permission slip. If you have additional questions about the legislative requirement, feel free to reach out to me, Mrs. Lindsey Hagerty, or Mr. JD Dubes.

Sincerely,

Michael Miller
Principal
